Licensed Psychologist
Life can be overwhelming and challenging. Having a safe place to talk privately and find support can be the emotional healing that is needed. Seeking help from a licensed mental health professional may be an effective way of putting things into perspective. As a committed psychologist, your emotional well-being and mental strength is my number one priority. It is my goal to guide you through life’s challenges with the attention, care and support you deserve.
"Daring greatly means the courage
to be vulnerable
it means to show up and be seen,
to ask for what you need,
to talk about how you're feeling
to have the hard conversations."
-Brené Brown
ALL ABOUT PSYCHOTHERAPY
My Methods
Psychotherapy is a type of collaborative treatment grounded in dialogue between the clinician and client. The goal is to find positive coping skills to change thoughts and behaviors that may be negatively impacting an individual's present life in an empathetic therapeutic environment.
During my treatment, I use a multitude of evidence based psychotherapeutic interventions and techniques (i.e. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT, Behavioral Interventions, Person Centered Therapy, Positive Psychology, Meditation and Mindfulness, etc.) that will promote psychological wellness and behavioral change in a supportive, non-judgmental and objective environment.
ABOUT ME
Exceeding Expectations One Patient at a Time
As the founder of the Center for Psychological Wellness and Change LLC, I am a licensed Psychologist in the state of PA. I completed my BS in Psychology from St. Joseph University in 1995, my MS in Community Counseling from Villanova University in 1997 and my PhD in Counseling Psychology from Temple University in 2004. I completed my pre-doctoral internship training at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, PA providing clinical services in the adolescent, adult, geriatric and eating disorders inpatient units.
Past clinical work includes servicing community mental health clinics, university counseling centers, outpatient clinics and private group practices. I have worked as the primary psychologist in several treatment team settings with other medical providers to provide additional psychological care in the inpatient, rehab and outpatient medical settings. I have experience conducting individual and group psychotherapy treating a diverse range of diagnoses. I have provided biofeedback services in the outpatient setting as well as conducted psychological assessments and surgical evaluations. I have presented on race and diversity at Columbia University's National
Roundtable and at the National Conference of the American
Psychological Association.
My clinical interests and specialties include treating mood related issues such as depression and anxiety, eating disorders, race and diversity, and managing adjustments to disabilities and ongoing medical diagnoses and chronic pain through the use of effective clinically based psychotherapeutic interventions.
In my practice, it is my goal to help
individuals achieve happiness and emotional symptom relief through several psychotherapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral interventions, mindfulness/meditation techniques, positive coping skills and stress management techniques in a collaborative supportive and objective therapeutic relationship.

INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
Individual psychotherapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and client where problems are identified, discussed and worked on through the use of effective sound therapeutic interventions. The goal of individual therapy is to promote positive change, overcome obstacles in one's emotional well being, gain skills in handling difficult situations, managing stress, making healthy decisions, and obtaining goals while improving self-esteem and confidence.
COUPLES COUNSELING
Couples therapy is a type of psychotherapy where a trained, often licensed therapist works with both partners to identify and help resolve issues and/or conflicts that may be impacting their relationship. The goal is to help the couple gain a better understanding of one another while helping them gain skills to improve their current dynamic.
Therapists work with couples in therapy for many reasons such as resolving conflicts, increasing communication skills, discussing and working on issues of infidelity, sexual difficulties, managing anger and emotions within the relationship, as well as discussing effective parenting skills. Couples therapy can also be sought out to help couples achieve a deeper understanding of one another whether to prepare for marriage, to want to improve their current marriage or relationship or to decide to part ways. The goal of couples therapy can vary and is determined in therapy based on the couple's situation and what is discussed in session with their therapist.
